As Dad and Son head to Broadway, we publish our 96th Because I Said So comic strip. We are approaching our 100th comic strip and we will soon release our Kickstarter Book Campaign for a commemorative book celebrating that milestone and including all 100 comic strips, a history of its development, and a step-by-step how-to guide from VoogDesigns on how he illustrates these strips so marvelously! Number 96 is about a visit to New York where Dad is reminiscing while Son is just LOVING IT!

Radio Show from B&B in San Francisco
A radio show from a B&B? I’ve been doing my radio show for over three years. Most of the time, I record it “live” in my home station studio – KZSB AM1290 in Santa Barbara. There, I sit with my producer/engineer and get verbal and sign queues. We have it “down” but sometimes I’m on the road and it’s really amazing that I can do the show from a telephone. My son took these clips of me sitting in our Bed & Breakfast in San Francisco. We were there to attend The Outside Lands Music Festival – but the show must go on (even from the comfort of a B&B)!. Enjoy these videos: The Best of Outside Lands, 2013 and A Taste of Paul McCartney.
#SearsAuto Takes Our Cars Back-to-School at #DadChat AND Gives Away a Set of Tires!
Cars. We love ’em. But, when it comes to our kids, maybe we love ’em a bit less? For all of us, taking good care of these 2,000-pound-plus vehicles is important both for safety and enjoyment. Sears Auto is sponsoring #DadChat this Thursday, August 29 at 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET, and we’ll be discussing all the issues of car care as it relates to us and our kids. What are your fears regarding your kids driving? Have you observed that many kids are not getting their licenses as soon as we did? Do you and/or your kids know how to take proper care of your car(s)? We have three extraordinary prizes from Sears Auto to give away at this week’s #DadChat on Thursday August 29, 2013.
Park City Summer – Part One
They say you come for the winter and stay for the summer. This is our first summer in Park City and we’re totally lovin’ it. I won’t say I prefer it to winter and skiing, but I’m LOVIN’ IT! So much to see and do. Check out my short video and see why for yourself!
Cell-Phone Value Does Exist – Smart Phones, Mobile, and Our Families at #DadChat
Okay, who HASN’T opened their smart phone bill and flipped! Why can’t cell-phone plans offer value AND service? #DadChat on Thursday, August 22 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET will discuss this fiscal and practical issue ALL families face. Plus, we have a solution with our sponsor, Walmart Family Mobile. Plus, we’re giving away TWO $100 Walmart gift cards! This is truly what I call a NO-LOSE – aka Win-WIN night! Not to be missed! Be sure to use #FamilyMobileSaves when competing for the two prizes! ONLY those answer tweets with both #DadChat and #FamilyMobileSaves are eligible to win!
Stop! Time is Going by toooooooo Fast!
Some say time is relevant. Others say it’s measurable and quite finite. Religions have different views of time and theories that vary considerably. For instance, some believe the so-called seven days of creation might have been several hundred years of evolution. Whether it was guided or not might be the province of another column or debate. I leave that to your own beliefs. I just want to assert my view on time, which has changed so much as I’ve gotten older.
