The World’s Tallest Building
In this short video, come with me as I go – in real time – up 124 floors to the observation deck at the Burj al Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, which is in Dubai. All in one take, this 2 1/2 minute video takes you up, with me, the entire elevator ride and then onto the deck nearly 1/2 mile high in the sky! THAT is how tall the building is. What a view. Truly out of this world!

Mom’s Dirty Little Secret at #DadChat
I am somewhere in India or Africa for this week’s #DadChat on Thursday, December 19 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 -10:00 p.m. ET. But, in anticipation of my absence I went looking and found the ONLY two moms in the world who would admit it. Yep, they are going to admit that they are happy when their adult children go home AFTER visiting for “The Holidays.” Yes, these two moms love their kids, but they love them more from afar.
The Other N-Word
No Smart-Phone, No Worry
I’ve been mostly without the use of my iPhone for going on a full week because of traveling overseas. The cost of all the international plans were really silly prohibitive and I thought – what the heck – I can do without, except for emergencies. So, I got a plan that basically costs about 80 cents per minute, bought 200 minutes, and turned off all data use. If my boys need to reach me, they can. Everyone else will get my voice message saying that I’m gone because this particular international phone plan gave me a new sim card and a new number to use while I’m gone and the only people I gave this new number to were my boys.
Dad the Tourist, Part III – Africa
Dad is having a blast and so am I. Now, even though I’m NOT That Dad, I’m on a big trip, too. We are currently cruising The Arabian Seas on our way to Mumbia, India. There we will fly to New Dehli and then Agra, which is the closest city to the Taj Mahal, where we’ll stay for two days. Back to the ship and on to other ports in India, then to Africa.
