Black Friday is a great day for ME to stay home. Other people, like “Dad,” have different ideas. I have a great suggestion, though. From the comfort of your home, you can now buy my new book on Amazon/Kindle for a whopping $2.99 or right here as a PDF, along with great package deals, for just $2.79. See cover image below and simply click on it to get to our store!
Category Archives: Because I Said So
Because I Said So is a weekly comic strip featuring “Dad” and “Son,” as they try to understand each other in this modern world. Watch Dad as he tries to understand modern culture and relate to Son, while living with his past of old styles, traditional values, and (shudder to think) Disco!
Because I Said So is available for syndication in your publication. Please Contact Us for information!

Dad Loves a Birthday Party
“They say it’s YOUR Birthday!” Well, “Dad” is celebrating his son’s birthday party in this week’s comic strip, but I’m celebrating my own today! And, on Monday we celebrate my older son’s birthday – who was my 40th birthday present. He sent me the following birthday present – below – couldn’t ask for anything better!
Because I Said So Cares
With such a national disaster as Hurricane Sandy hitting our country, we feel that we all should be doing our part to help out. Donate to Red Cross or help in any way you feel will benefit those tragically hurt by this horrific event.

#Halloween: Dad is Scared – BOO!
While we all know that “Dad” is NOT me, I actually did cry when I saw “Bambi.” I don’t get scared. This is the first Halloween when I won’t have a kid that is going trick-or-treating. One is away at college and the other, in high school, is going to a Halloween Party.

Dad Loves Musical Theater
As you all know, I write these comics and the wonderful Michael Voogd (VoogDesigns) draws them. There is absolutely NO resemblance between “Dad” and me, of course, though occasionally I do lift story ideas from my life. My son loves musicals and his Drama Club at school is putting on “Sweeney Todd,” so this is a tribute to the Oak Park High School Drama club and my son, Aaron Sallan!
