No, this isn’t a doomsday column. In fact, it’s a very positive one as we are watching and waiting for that big day. That day every parent wonders when or if it will ever arrive. That day that seems further and further away in this generation. That day, when…the kids leave!
The baboons were so entertaining. We saw a couple mating, but I wasn’t quick enough to get “that action” but I did get the aftermath and it’s quite amusing.

Every parent wants the best for their kids. I asked the Moral Question of the Week, WHICH do you want most for your kids – to be Happy, Good, or Successful? Yes, we want all three but not on that list is, do you care about your kid(s) sexuality? I would assume that most of the #DadChat community is open-minded and, dare I say, inclusive. I know there’s no homophobia in our community BUT that doesn’t answer the question of how YOU would deal with a child that is questioning his or her sexuality? I was born in the fifties so I guess that qualifies me as part of the Baby Boomer generation. I’d rather not be part of what I consider as the most destructive modern-era generation of self-involved human beings the planet has ever seen. But, I had no choice as to when I was born. I’m fond of saying that the ONLY good thing to come out of the sixties was some decent rock ‘n’ roll and, sadly, I stand by that statement. Okay, the Civil Rights movement was a good thing, too.
This is the inaugural column in a new blog series called, “Golf is Like…” Naturally, to launch it I chose to compare golf to sex, since sex is always a good hook. Get it? Hook? Besides, they say golf is a game of inches, don’t they?
