I just returned from a wonderful but sobering trip to Africa and India and I’ve been reflecting a lot about the world, my place in it, and my hopes and dreams for my boys. In mid-2013, #DadChat surpassed one billion impressions. I wrote How Much is One Billion at the time so all the amazing facts about numbers are in that column. This time, I simply want to crow a bit about how the entire year turned out for #DadChat AND, what I believe to be the potential and pitfalls for Tweet Chats in the future.

In Because I Said So #116 Dad comes home from a long trip and finds a lot of surprises in his house!
For the past few weeks I’ve been traveling overseas, largely on a cruise-ship. As often is the case, cruise lines bring aboard guest lecturers, usually experts in travel that speak about the places the cruise will visit. But, on this particular cruise, in addition to those ubiquitous and familiar lecturers, they invited an especially fascinating scholar and exceptional speaker, Dr. Robert Schrire. His topics have been loosely related to politics but more specifically about how the past and present will impact our future.

Today’s radio show is inspired by this week’s “A Dad’s Point-of-View” column, Genetics Determine Everything.
Seeing the swarms of people that came through the entrance to the Taj Mahal at Sunset was truly mind-boggling. I know it doesn’t look that crazy busy and crowded but it was and it brought to mind the wild scenes from the movie, “World War Z.” The joy on the faces though is so apparent. And, the colors so vivid. It truly is a wonder of the world!
Travel is amazing. I just hate the “travel” part. But I absolutely love the “PEOPLE” part. By engaging with nearly everyone I met, my experiences were enhanced immeasurably. This is a short video story of just such an encounter…
I think it’s time I reminded EVERYONE that I’m NOT that Dad! Besides, I do look like the middle panel…
