#DadChat this Thursday, Jan. 19 was a ton of fun. We had over 1500 tweets from over 100 participants. Here’s the transcript…read what you missed and come next week for “The Triple Decker Generation” with co-host @BarryBirkett!
#DadChat has always been about being a great parent – dad or mom. And, we’ve always had equal participation from moms and dads.
You know that we won’t really be pitting dads against moms or women against men, but I think it is time for some #DadChat gender fun! That is why I’ve invited the funny and wonderfully snarky (at least with me) Mimi Baker to co-host this Thursday, January 19 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., PST.
Mimi is a Christian single mom of 4 kids: 20, 18 (girls) and 12, 8 (boys). She lives in Minnesota though would rather be living pretty much anywhere else. She was a Stay At Home Mom for 15 yrs and now works in a hardware store. She loves power tools but suggests that women should pass on the pink ones. Her admitted vice is Twitter. She blogs at Woven by Words.
I think it is time we asked some important questions like:
Why are dads so much better at parenting than moms?
Can moms fix anything without the help of a dad?
Since most great chefs are men, where the heck did this foolish notion that women were good cooks come from?
Why do men and women tennis players get equal prize winnings when the men
play 3 out of 5 sets and the women 2 out of 3 sets?
Speaking of sports, does ANYONE watch the WNBA?
Why is the family always waiting for mom when we all go somewhere?
On the more serious side, we are having a VERY SPECIAL giveaway, too! FIVE copies of Outwitting the Devil, by Napoleon Hill (author of the monster best-seller Think and Grow Rich), annotated by Sharon Lechter, will be given away to those who win them…the usual #DadChat way — by answering various questions.
Additionally, Sharon Lechter will likely be joining us during #DadChat should you have any questions about his great book that is subtitled, “The Secret to Freedom and Success.”
Sharon Lechter is the co-author of Three Feet From Gold, and co-author of the international bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad and fourteen books in the Rich Dad series. Lechter is also a spokesperson for the National CPAs Commission on Financial Literarcy, and the founder of Pay Your Family First and creator of ThriveTime for Teens, an award-winning financial life and money reality (board) game..
