Thanksgiving and Hanukkah comic stripBecause I Said So celebrates both Thanksgiving and Hanukkah – even though Hanukkah is misspelled but there are so many spellings so who cares – with our 110th comic strip. Michael Voogd, the BISS illustrator, added the words “Practice Thanksgiving” and I think it was a brilliant “stroke.” Yes, we should all “Practice Thanksgiving” every day of the year. Also, this is the last time for another 70,000 years that Hanukkah will actually fall – for a full day – on Thanksgiving Day. Bet you didn’t know that!?

Men and Cleaning

Perhaps one of the most enjoyable aspects of doing this series of columns is ruffling feathers and reflecting – often with humor – on my own life and wife. Since my wife rarely reads my columns, I can write whatever I want with relative impunity. Of course, I’m ALWAYS writing the exact truth. It’s never slanted or biased from my male point-of-view. I’m the objective journalist with this series.

White Christmas by The Sallan Boys

This is the Sallan boys singing along to the great Drifters Fifties version of White Christmas back about a decade ago when they were VERY little and not very cooperative.  I had a sore throat, but we still had a bunch of fun doing it!  We all still enjoy listening to it a lot.  These are the memories you keep forever!
