Diversity, Equality & Other Four-Letter Words I Disdain
Every time I write a column with political overtones, I swear I won’t do it again. Then, the response is so consistently good that I think, “Gee, maybe I should just become a political commentator.” Then, very quickly, I come back to reality with the honest self-reflection that I just don’t have the chops for it like many of the great political writers I admire such as Thomas Sowell, Michael Medved, or Dave Barry. However, I still have opinions so I do take the opportunity now and then to express them, especially when they relate to parenting. So here we go again, with diversity, equality & other four-letter words I disdain.

Teen Drug Abuse AND Entitlement at #DadChat
#DadChat is never afraid to tackle the tough topics. We did DIVORCE two weeks ago and set a World Record for that chat! This Thursday, January 31 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET, we are taking on the pernicious problem of Teen Drug Abuse and the problem of Entitlement among our kids. If you don’t have a child that has abused drugs (or liquor), then you surely know one or many through your friends. It’s tragic. Adryenn Ashley (@Adryenn) is returning to help with this difficult discussion along with Peggy Harper Lee (@PeggyHarperLee).
Homework for this #DadChat is reading this column, Entitled.
Also, we are doing #DadChat LIVE from the Dad2.0Summit in Houston, where I’ll be speaking this coming weekend. I expect many attendees to join me in a round-table IRL discussion along with all of you in our amazing community, world-wide!
Valentine’s Day: Not a Review of The Five Love Languages
We’ve met some very interesting couples over the years. Interesting in that they were so different from each other, yet they found each other and had what we viewed as terrific relationships. Since my wife and I also have solidly different backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions, we find these other couples fascinating. In light of Valentine’s Day, let’s take a look at these couples, us too, and talk about love. Note: You may enjoy last year’s Valentine’s Day column, Guys Hate Valentine’s Day.
