There is NO DOUBT that money is at the top of everyone’s list of concerns these days. There’s also no doubt that money is one of the topics that cause many rifts between couples and families. How do we teach our kids to respect money? To save? To learn delayed gratification? The inimitable Pam Moore was our very special co-host for this #DadChat! Those were just some of the questions we asked and answered Thursday, October 4. Read the transcript for what you missed!

The Evolution of Technology: Audio Tape
The Evolution of Technology series continues with Audio Tape, co-written by Professor David E. Weber and myself.
Who remembers reel-to-reel tape recorders? How about 8-Track cassettes AND the sound they made when they switched from one to another of the four “tracks?” Regular audiocassettes, remember those? There was a time, when we had vinyl LPs aka record albums and ONLY various forms of audiotape. But, I’m dating myself yet again.
Professor Weber will weigh in with his thoughts later in this column.

Dad Writes Another Check: School Expenses
While I think this comic is funny, it also really irritates me. I write more and more checks for school expenses and get more requests to raise money for schools. Why do we have to pay for the school expenses and EVERY extra-curricular activity that USED TO BE available at our schools? I did Drivers Ed in high school. Now, we pay for it!

Bruce is Going #Vegan
I’ve been going #Vegan going on six months now. This video and the interviews were done just a few weeks into this new diet, as I was just going #vegan. Since then, I’ve had a second doctor’s visit with equally positive results. HOWEVER, my doc convinced me to add a bit of chicken to my diet as a precaution to be sure I was getting enough protein.
