Excuse me? P&G has been airing a ton of commercials during The Olympics in which they portray the wonderful support moms give their athlete kids. And, they do. BUT, so do the dads. Maybe, just maybe, even as much as the moms. Maybe, gulp, even more?
It’s Olympics time again. We are deluged with commercials and hours and hours of important sports events such as archery, badminton, and rowing oh, and let’s not forget table tennis! What was once a pure “Amateur” world event now has Roger Federer and Kobe competing. How sports have affected all of us was this week’s #DadChat topic. Are you one of those over-bearing soccer parents? Do you live vicariously through your kids athletic endeavors? We talked about all this Thursday, August 2 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., PT. A while ago, I wrote Seven Days Without My iPhone. Now, I’ve gone another 5 days, with one more to go, without it again. It is liberating. Much has been written lately about taking Social Media sabbaticals or breaks. Not only is it a good idea, I would assert it would improve your relationships – especially in your “home” family – and also improve, yes, your health.
