Are parents spoiling their kids? Are you? Am I?
That’s what Bruce Sallan (@BruceSallan on Twitter) is asking. He asks himself in last week’s weekly column, Entitled. Last Thursday, Bruce and co-hosts Charlie (@HowToBeADad) AND Andy (@betadad) asked the big questions at #Dadchat.
There’s no doubt that I’m really wading into it with the title of this column. I was reflecting on the end of this season of Glee and the only other television series that I watch regularly, Modern Family. I enjoy both show but do wonder if they have an agenda as to the message they want to put across.
I’ve begun to make my weekend posts about Social Media. It just happened. Why? Because I’m living Social Media and my work revolves around it as well. And, I love it.
#DadChat tonight takes on our Entitled and SPOILED kids! Is it all our fault or has society contributed? I like to blame my generation – the boomers – for most everything bad that is going on so that’s going to be my take. We’ve made our kids spoiled. What a pleasant surprise to receive this short video tribute aka homage, shot and edited by my son’s good friend, Jon. Yeah, I bribed him with Bruce Springsteen tickets, but he still came through and I was quite touched. That is why he chose “The Boss” description you’ll see within it -truly no other reason.
