As many of you know, #DadChat and I were “hit” by haters earlier this year. It made me re-evaluate my thoughts about Social Media as a whole and my place in this ever-changing landscape. #DadChat was “my baby” and I loved the good we were doing by discussing topics as tough as Sexual Abuse, Religion, and Race. We also had many lighter topics, often music-related.

The Last Day: Let’s Do It #Skiing
The ski season ended April 20, 2014 at Park City Mountain. It was beautiful and this is me skiing from the top of the resort – in two takes – through two mogul fields and having a great last run of the season…come along for the ride!
What a Powderful Day
Below are two videos shot yesterday, March 18, 2014 on a glorious powder morning. I was wearing a chest-strap and using my new GoPro HERO3+. I felt all alone skiing in the trees. Heck, I was virtually all alone. How wonderful. The first video is pretty much top-to-bottom in one take while the other is a compilation of several runs with me whooping it up…
The Park
A little Terrain Park action shot with my new GoPro HERO3+ at Park City. I didn’t do much because I don’t “play” in the park. I prefer the half-pipe but it was closed due to the Junior Olympics taking place there.
Top of the World #Skiing
This is my first skiing video with my new GoPro HERO3+ shot at Park City on March 12, 2014. It’s a trip up McConkey’s lift to the top of the mountain and then the ride down from the bowl at the top to the bumps under the chair to the corduroy at the bottom. What I mean by “real time” is that none of the video is sped up (to be clear when you see the text in the video).
Instagram Reveals Who We Are
Instagram is one of those new platforms that have been an instant success. Like most new things, I tend to wait and get aboard only when I have to – I’m forced to – or really, when I finally get over my anxiety about learning it. Now, I love using it and I share really important things via the photos I take with my phone. Things such as what I’m eating for breakfast, hundreds of photos of Simon (my dog), and my feet, when I’m napping.

I Love to Ski
I’ve been a ski lover for years. During my first marriage I hardly got to ski at all. My first wife wasn’t interested NOR were my boys. We tried, but they didn’t take to it and if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being a dad it’s that you can’t nor shouldn’t push your kids to do what you like vs. what they like. You can introduce them to your passions, but they get to make the choice – or you’ll suffer in the end!
When my marriage ended, I vowed I’d never give up skiing again. My boys were now older and I was able to get baby-sitters for my ski trips. When I was blessed to meet my second wife, it turned out she was a better skier than me. We’ve enjoyed skiing together ever since.
In fact, we are going on our second heli-skiing trip next month…below is my favorite photo from our last one to The Adamants in British Columbia.
