It’s amazing what some kids with passion can do! Oak Park High School’s production of Les Miserables was truly wonderful. They did it four times with two different casts for the leads. Each cast was terrific and the entire ensemble was simply fantastic. Now, I’m not the least bit biased, of course, even though my son played “Marius” (this is “his” cast – on Opening Night). Enjoy these nine minutes of clips from this 2 1/2 hour production of Les Miserables.

I love writing this blog series. Why? Because I get to poke holes in the conventional, contemporary politically correct stereotypes. And, I sincerely believe that the differences between men and women are genuine and trying to conflate them to fit some academic model of humanity simply denies our humanity. And, for those that know me, I like to provoke…discussion. I’m still waiting for some ardent feminists or Women’s Studies students or professors to weigh in with their comments. Morning After Pill Ruling BS
I was asked by HuffPostLive to make a video comment for a segment they were preparing about the Morning After PIll and an activist judge’s ruling. This is what I said. I believe EVERY word in this short rant. I believe it’s ABSURD that a judge can legislate. I believe that a child THAT YOUNG should NOT have access to any sort of prescription meds. Kids need to be 16 to drive, 18 to smoke or enlist, and 21 to drink, but it’s OKAY that they can get birth control – after the fact , the morning after pill- at ANY AGE? C’mon, even you lefties have to see the craziness of this? Are we becoming like a totalitarian regime where The State parents OUR kids? This is yet another case of Political Correctness gone MAD!

Les Miserables – Puttin’ On a Show
Dad is all flustered when Son has a major role in the school play – Les Miserables. As you all know – of course – I just write these comic strips and they’re NOT based at all on my family life. However, if you’re interested, my son’s school Play Group just happens to be doing Les Miz this weekend and my son just happens to be playing Marius. What a coincidence!

Why Our Kids Should Go For It
Yes, we should encourage our kids to Go For It. Of course I don’t mean foolish or dangerous things, but those that will help them succeed in life. In our contemporary world, it’s the risk-takers who will succeed. Too many kids feel entitled, have been pampered or helicoptered, and the idea of taking a chance and going for it is completely foreign to them. Thomas Edison is a perfect example of a man who didn’t allow failures to deter his determination.
