Old Guy at Outside Lands 2012 #Music

Outside Lands 2012 is an incredible music festival that takes place each summer in San Francisco. This was my 2nd time there. The first time I went with my older son and two of his friends. This time I went with both of my boys. They are old enough that we all went our separate ways. I so enjoyed some of the concerts but mostly I enjoyed the people. This is the first of several videos I’ll be sharing from 5 hours of footage I took.

Bring YOUR #Pet to #DadChat

My dog, Simon - enjoying the wind and the view!

We talked pets and had a pet photo contest Thursday, November 8 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT/9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET. There were THREE winners of a copy of my soon-to-be-published new e-book for best/cutest pet photo! The were @GemWebb, @KimWhix, and @Casudi. The cover is pictured at the bottom of this post. Trey Burley was our co-host. Share in what you missed via the transcript.

#DadChat has been having some HEAVY topics lately so I felt it was time for a lighter night for our community.

There are many things I envy about the things my kids have in their lives, the opportunities that lie ahead, and just being younger and less jaded than me.

Hooray for #Hollywood

I took the young man that I mentor – Daniel – to a screening of Wreck-It Ralph at The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. We loved the movie, but we also loved playing tourist at the Chinese Theatre, looking at all the stars’ foot and handprints – and enjoying all the tourists there, too. I’ve lived here my whole life, but I still get a kick out of it. BTW, Wreck-It Ralph was absolutely TERRIFIC!

Men vs. Women: Differences Between Our Communication Skills

 Communication skills

The first article in this new series of differences between men and women took on how we handle money. This one is about how we communicate. As with every article in this ongoing series, I continue to believe that men and women are inherently different, due to our genetics, biology, and to some degree our environment and/or upbringing. However, I don’t believe the latter plays a big factor except when it’s horrific, like in the case of child abuse, severe disabilities, and/or illness.
