Social Media is the new method of networking, working, and interacting in so many ways. We parents have begun to adopt it and, in various cases, it is a part of our lives. BUT, for our kids, it is a HUGE part of their lives. And, going forward, it will only get more and more complicated and integrated into daily life. We were honored to have Social Media and Marketing expert Pam Moore as our co-host on Thursday, July 19 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT. We discussed what the future may hold for us, Social Media, and our kids! But, the chat covered so very much more: Read the transcript!

My Son Got a #Tattoo
The title of this column probably brings shivers to parents of toddlers and kids under the age of 12. Many parents do not like or appreciate tattoos or any so-called “Body Art.” I am one of them plus it is against our religion and is expressly forbidden in Judaism. Nonetheless, we parents have to choose our battles and this is one I chose to lose.

We Had a #Tattoo Contest at #DadChat
My son got a tattoo. He says it’s the first of many. He’s 18. When he came home with THIS ONE – above – it was more than I’d expected. Very big, Very prominent, and Very RED. Is this a battle we parents should fight? We talked #Tattoos, #BodyArt, and Our Kids on Thursday July 12, from 6:00 – 7:00 p..m. PT. Here’s the transcript.
The College Scam Hurts Us ALL
Human nature is such that when something doesn’t directly affect you, it’s easy to not pay attention. Such has been the case for this dad regarding the escalating costs of college, the incredible competition to get in, and all the bizarre and increasingly complex options to try and pay for it all. Maybe it’s a scam on us parents? Maybe it’s another bubble about to burst as some say about the over 1 trillion in student debt? All I know is we are paying a ridiculous fortune to send our first-born to a private college in Boston.
What #Tech Matters to You? Do #SocialMedia and #Technology Define Your Life?
We all choose to employ technology in different ways in our lives. I am very curious how YOU and YOUR KIDS use technology. Do they text or speak with their friends? Do you still have a landline at home? When is the last time you upgraded your main television and/or do you have a home theatre with Dolby and Surround Sound? Do you even have a smart phone? When did you last upgrade your computer?
