What’s new? THAT is a loaded question but we’ll save the answer just for things going on here. #DadChat this week veers from strictly parenting and we’ll be discussing the risks/rewards of having opposite sex friends. Opposite sex friends can cause trouble sometimes! The current A Dad’s Point-of-View column is about teens – never a lack of material there, huh? Look for the second I’m NOT That Dad vlog (video blog) tomorrow. Subject is: Thursdays. I hope you like the new design for my website. Please explore a bit and feedback is quite welcome. For that matter, contact me anytime you wish!
Opposite Sex friends are a complicated issue. If you’re single, no big deal (presumably). If you’re married? Opposite sex friends are maybe a big deal. Risks of infidelity abound. My friend Sharon shared her story in The Risks of Opposite Sex Friends, a recent column of mine. If you want “Extra Credit,” read it before we tackle this topic on Thursday, March 8 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., PST. That 9:00 p.m. ET!
When they say, “What goes around, comes around” they must have had me in mind. That’s because I gave my parents a certain degree of difficulty during my teen years. Now, I have double that trouble, since I have two teens at home. The good news is that one of them will be heading off to college in six months. The bad news is that the one left behind is as or more difficult than his older college-bound brother.
I participate in several Tweet Chats, among them #blogchat, which is all about blogging and, to a degree, Social Media. Learning SoMe, as it is often acronymized (new word?) is part of my job. There are all sorts of tips one will hear along the SoMe highway. One that is over-used in my opinion is “Content Is King.” Sure content matters, but that is sort of obvious. Another word that is over-used is “Engagement.” I still prefer using that when someone has a ring to show. My thing is commenting.

Opposite sex friends can cause a lot of tension. This show is loosely based on this week’s “A Dad’s Point-of-View” column, The Risks of Opposite Sex Friends.
Looks like Dad got an unintentional trim on his soul patch.
