My last Social Media Social Good column talked about some lessons learned when the “haters” went after me. Next, I’d like to share how my use of SoMe has changed, both as a result of that experience and a result of my evolving goals (from Social Media). I hope you’ll share how your Social Media and Tech use has evolved!

A Boomer’s Point-of-View: I Told You So (Re: China)
It a lengthy two-part article (The Real Problem is…Part One and Part Two) I wrote last year on declining birth rates in most of the world, I predicted that China would eliminate its one-child per couple policy. They just did. It’s now a two-child policy. I went on to predict something a bit more radical as well, but we’ll get to that prediction later (which I still stand by).
A Boomer’s Point-of-View: I’m THROWING in the Towel #Politics #SocialMedia #PC
I can no longer engage in political discourse. Free Speech is dead – especially on college campuses. The CNBC “Debate” (aka Debacle) was a c-change for mainstream media, but the lack of respectful dialogue on Social Media has been the c-change for me on speaking out on anything political or socially “controversial.”
A Boomer’s Point-of-View: Too Old to Rock ‘N’ Roll?
Perhaps this is the perfect topic for my new focus on boomers in my writing. After all, I’m fond of saying that “pretty much, the only good thing to come from MY generation is rock ‘n’ roll.”
The other night I attended a concert at a local, wonderful venue – The Egyptian Theatre – in Park City, Utah. B.J. Thomas – 73 – was closing a three-day stint. I looked around the audience and wondered why there were so many “old people” there. Then I remembered that I was one of those “old people.” Not in spirit, certainly, but in birth date!
A Boomer’s Point-of-View: The Decent and the Indecent
~~ How can the University of California actually declare that the line that, There are two races of people: the decent and the indecent, is racist?
~~ Why are outsiders such as Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson dominating the Republican primary polls (so far)?
~~ How could an avowed Socialist become so important in the Democratic primaries?
~~ Do you believe our country is better or worse since President Obama has been in office?
~~ Other than some good rock ‘n’ roll, what good has my generation – the Baby Boomer’s – done for our country?
~~ Is a government shutdown (ever) a good thing?
These are questions I am asking myself these days and asking you. I am more concerned about our country and the violence worldwide than I’ve ever been. I try to have hope, but I often feel hopeless. I am grateful to have grown up and prospered when I did, but fear immensely for my kids’ futures.
